Powering Sustainable
Energy Growth in the
UK & Bangladesh
EFG Energy is part of the Euro Foods Group, an international group of companies with a strong presence in the UK and Bangladesh.
The group generates annual revenues of over $400 million and operates large-scale food manufacturing factories and industrial parks across Bangladesh and the UK.
EFG Energy was established as the energy arm of the group to support our own operations and customers with secure, sustainable, and cost-effective energy solutions.

Our Focus in the UK
Renewable Energy for Businesses
In the UK, EFG Energy is focused on renewable energy particularly solar power energy.
Over the last three years, we have invested millions of pounds into renewable energy generation to power our own cold stores and factories. This investment was driven by the sharp increase in energy costs following the Russia–Ukraine war, which severely impacted power prices and energy security across the UK.
Today, our customers continue to suffer from high and unstable energy costs.
EFG Energy aims to support our existing customer:
- Reducing long-term energy costs
- Improving energy security
- Supporting the UK’s transition to renewable power
- Providing scalable solar and renewable energy solutions

Our Operations in Bangladesh
Powering Industry where Infrastructure Falls Short.
Euro Foods Group operates multiple factories and food manufacturing parks in Bangladesh, where national grid infrastructure is often unable to meet industrial demand and is unreliable.
To ensure operational continuity, the group has invested heavily in self-generated power, including:
- Gas-powered electricity generation
- Independent on-site power plants
- Energy systems to support factory operations and cold stores
With a population of over 180 million and rapidly growing industrial demand, Bangladesh faces increasing pressure on its energy supply. Factories and communities continue to suffer from power shortages and rising costs. Currently Bangladesh imports a significant portion of its energy from India. Under the new government’s strategy, it aims to become energy self-sufficient by the end of this tenure.
Our Energy Strategy in Bangladesh
Multi-Layer Energy Development
EFG Energy is now investing in:
- LPG processing and distribution
- Renewable energy projects, including solar
- Gas-based electricity generation
- Long-term energy infrastructure development
Our goal is to help support Bangladesh’s growing energy needs while building a diversified energy portfolio that includes both renewables and transitional energy sources.

LPG Demand in Bangladesh
A Rapidly Growing Energy Market
Bangladesh’s demand for LPG is rising fast as piped natural gas supply continues to decline and household, industrial, and transport usage increases.
- Market Demand Snapshot
- Current annual LPG demand: Estimated to be around 1.7 – 1.8 million tonnes
- Forecast demand by 2030: 3 million tonnes per year
Key demand drivers:
- Declining piped gas availability
- Rapid industrial growth
- Expansion of urban households
- Increasing commercial and transport usage
Market Structure
- The private sector supplies 98% of LPG in the country
- Only around 10 companies actively import LPG at scale
Frequent price volatility and supply shortages create opportunities for:
- Reliable import infrastructure
- Bulk storage terminals
- Bottling and nationwide distribution networks
Regulatory Pricing vs Market Reality
Retail LPG prices are regulated by Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC).
However, due to supply pressure and logistics challenges, market prices often exceed the regulated benchmark.
This gap highlights the urgent need for new, reliable LPG infrastructure and supply investment to stabilise pricing and improve access for households and industries this is where EFG energy will come in.
Why EFG Energy Is Entering the Bangladesh LPG Market
EFG Energy is investing in:
- LPG import and processing facilities
- Bulk storage terminals
- Bottling plants
- Distribution infrastructure
- Renewable energy projects to support long-term energy transition
Our aim is to strengthen energy security in Bangladesh by providing reliable, scalable and compliant LPG supply, while building the foundations for renewable and transitional energy solutions.
Strategic Locations & Expansion
EFG Energy is expanding energy infrastructure near industrial and coastal zones, including areas around Khulna, providing logistical access and supply chain advantages for energy processing and distribution. We have acquired a large shrimp processing farms in the region to help us be located strategically near the coast to facility further expansion into renewable energy.
